Hyperbaric Medicine and Advanced Wound Care Clinic
In alignment with our core Mission, AACS Inc. is proud to announce our inaugural strategic initiative: the establishment of the Hyperbaric Medicine and Advanced Wound Care Clinic (HMAWCC) in Ghana. AACS Inc. serves as a dedicated supporter of HMAWCC, a registered nonprofit, community-based outpatient facility designed to revolutionize wound care management through a multidisciplinary approach.
The urgency for HMAWCC's services in Ghana is profoundly evident. The nation faces a significant public health challenge with a high prevalence of chronic and complex wounds, often stemming from widespread conditions such as diabetes and various vascular diseases. These persistent wounds are not only debilitating but, without access to advanced medical interventions, frequently lead to severe complications, including life-altering amputations.
HMAWCC is poised to address this critical healthcare gap by introducing state-of-the-art treatment capabilities previously unavailable within the country. We are especially proud to highlight that HMAWCC will be the sole facility in Ghana offering clinically certified, FDA-approved Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). This advanced treatment is globally recognized for its efficacy in accelerating healing and improving outcomes for patients suffering from difficult-to-treat wounds.
HMAWCC will be administered by Dr. William Asihene MD, PHD, FACS who brings over two decades of experience in Advance Wound Care, General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Hyperbaric Medicine.
The facility will provide the following services:
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) - a treatment that involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized room or chamber. This treatment increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in the blood. Saturating organs and tissues with critical oxygen yields many health benefits. HBOT reduces inflammation and swelling while helping the body to fight infection. It also stimulates the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells that promote healing and cause formation of new blood vessels, bone and cartilage regeneration.
Comprehensive Wound Care - comprehensive wound care that offers extensive expertise, advance technologies and state-of-the art treatments for managing and healing wounds, including complex and hard-to-heal wounds.
By bringing this essential, cutting-edge technology and expert care to Ghana, HMAWCC will not only save limbs and significantly enhance the quality of life for countless individuals but also set a new benchmark for advanced medical care in the region. This endeavor represents a pivotal step in AACS Inc.'s commitment to transforming healthcare accessibility and fostering healthier, more productive lives for people in the region.
